In an online presentation yesterday morning, Pascal Hüben (Head of Customer Success) from Interform A/S introduced us to the news. It was about the highlights of the products Interform400 and InterformNG2 and the new features of both products.
InterformNG2 highlights
Cloud
InterformNG2 is cloud-enabled, which is an important factor. Kafka integration has been realized and there is better client management.
IBMI functions
The IBM i functions have been improved in many ways. For example, an option to set spool file attributes for output spool files (similar to IF400) has been added. Support for printing to unregistered AS400 output queues has also been added.
Designer
In relation to the Interform WYSIWYG Designer, HTML e-mails can now be conveniently created directly in the Designer. No further tool is needed to attach e.g. invoices as HTML. The creation of Excel tables is now integrated in the Designer.
PDF improvements
Interform’s PDF engine has been updated. It is now even more secure, efficient and up-to-date.
Barcodes and diagrammes
The barcode formats have been extended (PSPS, Postnet, Pharmacode, GS1, …) and the QR code formats have been optimized.
In addition, it is now possible to realize and display data graphically in diagrams directly in the designer.
More improvements
More input formats have also been integrated and batch processing optimized. The log has been improved and extended to export / import. It is now much easier to report a problem.
Interform roadmap
Also the Interform roadmap for the next 12 months was published.
Differences InterForm400 and InterFormNG2
In addition, the differences between the two products InterForm400 and InterFormNG2 were once again highlighted. We are currently already using InterformNG2 for our customers or recommend an upgrade to InterformNG2 in the near future. The main difference between Interform400 and NG2 is the platform independence of InterformNG2. For example, Interform400 was still limited to the IBM i platform. With InterformNG2, all java-based platforms can now be used. In addition, InterformNG2 is cloud-enabled, which is an advantage for many users.
More information on the topic of output management can be found on our page Output Management or in Blog of our partner Interform. Most of the articles there are written in English and German..
